UPVC doors catching at the lock?

HI

I''ve had double glazed doors insttaled at the front they are double doors and the doors catch with eah other and when the weather is hot they expand making it very very difficult to open the doors.

I need help to fix this my self with the help of the right tools as I cannot afford to pay extortionate callout charges to double galzing repair men.

Msny Thanks

could be a few things; hinges need adjusting, keeps need adjusting, locks, toe and heeling etc....
10yr guarantee should be in place so contact installer. if they are worth their salt they should remedy the problem.
if they are trying to fob you off then legal action is an avenue but do give them a chance!.....

first of all did a company fit these doors,if so they should have a 10 year guarentee and the problem is thers to sort out, secondly its a tricky job to sort french doors that are catching and not a job for novice,as problem could be many things,it could be door frame not fitted square, doors need toe and healin or hinges need taking off and moving or need adjusting.Have you rang any double glazing repair engineers in your area? because all don't charge a fortune,I would charge around £60 -80 to sort problem and you get a years guarentee which I think is reasonable as one day you might not be able to lock them and then the security of your home is at risk,so before you tar us all with the same brush ring around and get a few prices then judge us all again.
