can anyone explain as to why my packard bell laptop screen keeps going blank (standby) and how do i go about fixing it?
I've taken in to be repaired but they couldn't find anything wrong?

Just got a similar problem with my Easynote: dark screen with no Lcd backlight.
The trouble appeared to come from the cover switch (switches off the backlight when you close the laptop).
This switch is located below the left hand lock.
