If it is like my Hotpoint that I have just repaired, don't start!

However, do you have a three pronged spyder with the spindle? If so, mine was the same. Six bolts hold it in place, I broke every tool I had trying to remove the bolts. (six years old machine) I ended up drilling out the bolts, which were stainless steel. It took about ten hours of drilling, much bad language and frustration. Cost me £20:00 in titanium bits, all destroyed. Then the bearings, you have to bash them out with a flat end chisel. Gently, around and around for ages. Then clean with wet and dry, gently, the bearing casing. It all takes time. If you are going ahead with this marathon and have a digital camera, take pictures of all cable connections and every other part that you dismantle. Label all screws and bolts, why; because of the time it may take to do all the work it is easy to forget the exact configuration of all the cable and parts, etc.

My Hotpoint worked first time, and the second time, now it has lost all the program codes and I am here trying to find the correct codes!
This has been an expensive and time consuming job.
