Whirlpool washing machine won`t spin?

My washing machine goes through the full cycle of washing and rinsing but it doesn`t spin. The clothes are VERY wet when it stops. Any help would be appreciated. It`s a whirlpool, 5 cycle

It sound like brushes on the motor worn.
you need to buy set of brushes from Whirlpool direct.
Take the Motor out
Take old brushes out new one in.
Mount motor back in the machine
Don't forget to unblug the Machine when you doing all that.
Let me know how you get on

I have researched this since I had the same problem. The most likely problem is the Motor Coupling which is an easy fix and cost is only about $15.00. To remove cabinet and replace coupling use this: http://repair2000.com/coupling.html. If this doesn't work, and the clutch on the transmission is spinning, it may be the Brake Drum & Shoes and I haven't attacked that yet. http://repair2000.com/wpddrive.gif
