faulty plug socket?

i have just noticed one of my plug sockets is making a crackling noise, i am quite worried about it so have removed some of the plugs from the extention cable plug in there but it continues, is it faulty?

sounds like it is arking may have loose terminal screw in back of socketturn electric of at fuse unscrew the two screws n have alook to c if any wires are loose tighten screws in socket may cure it if yiu havent overloaded itand melted back of socket

replace it"with one that has a swicth on it , so you dont have to keep pulling out the plugs everytime, you only have to buy the cover part of the socket,, and how many plugs do you have going into it and working at the sametime?what are they for " dont overload any socket,it has to work too hard,

It sounds like there is an electrical short and the crackling sound is actually a spark.
