Knocking noise on boiler?

We have been on holiday, returned and turned the water and gas back on. We have a condenser boiler, and when turning on a tap or washing machine a loud banging noise comes from the pipes. Is this an air lock? or possibly something to do with our gas? any remedy ideas?

sounds to me like your plate heat exchanger is scaled up, get a good engineer out to descale and put an inline scale reducer on your cold main inlet.
