Hi
this is a common problem with modern washing machines. Everthing is electronic and as a result if the washing cycle has been interrupted (power failure, attempts to change the washing speed, time etc), it will just lock, so the engineer told me.
It may sound very difficult but it is a very simple repair, if your careful. Cut of the power supply, and remove the casing at the top of the machine.
Now if you are facing the machine and looking at it from above, look down the bottom right hand corner of the machine, towards the door handle. Guide your hand down to the back of the door handle. Gently push the lever up or down depending on your model, but be gentle, and the door will open, and should in theory reset and work again as normal....
MAKE SURE YOU TURN OF THE POWER
