Baxi Solo - New Flue?

Hello, I have a Baxi Solo boiler. It has been absolutely fantastic. In the 17 yrs that I've had it the flame hasn't even been out.

I'm having it re-sited on a different wall in my garage because i'm having a conservatory built. However I will need to replace the external flue as my son has squashed it by kicking a football against it.

The work is going to be done by a workman from the local council in his spare time. He says that it is impossible to get a replacement flue for this boiler as they are obsolete. He says I will need a new boiler.

This seems absolutely ridiculous as Baxi are one of the more reputable brands.

Surely I can get my hands on one of these flues?

Mr "T" is right and anyway you will probably not be able to buy the flue for this boiler.
I would add that any boiler installed, either new or old, needs to be registered with corgi.
lastly you are already paying to install a boiler, now is the time to bite the bullet and pay for a new boiler and make savings on your gas bill

firstly, the 'workman' from the local council needs to be a corgi registered installer to do anything of the sort with your boiler (and does he have suitable insurance to do this job for you? I hope so!)

A boilers lifespan is usually 10-15 years, as this is a 17 year old boiler, I would recommend fitting a new one (perhaps the Baxi Solo HE, save you 10-15% on your yearly gas bill too!, not too mention the environment)
