4hp Briggs & Stratton Lawn Mower won't start?

My 4hp Briggs & Stratton will no longer start. It has been starting fine all season but not now. Last year I had a new fuel lifter fitted but the same problem seems to have arisen again, when it is compressed there seems to be no pressure. I would appreciate any help.

You don't get a great deal of compression with a side valve engine, but naturally there should be some.....have you checked for a spark? If your machine has the fuel tank below the carb, there are lifting diaphragms that give trouble occasionally, and also two filters that block.
