I had a similar problem with the same error message. The machine would not drain and move to the next cycle.
In the past the filter was blocked by coins and buttons (makes a terrible noise) but on this occasion the filter was clear.

To clear the filter and drain the machine you need to remove the kick plate and drain plug and place a container to catch the water. This is near impossible when the machine is sitting on the floor !!!
If the machine has not drained in cycle expect around 5 litres of water if it has emptied about one litre.

I got round this by placing the machine on blocks with a large baking tray under the drain plug to catch the water.

I ran the machine empty and it stopped when it reached the empty cycle and again the message.
The machine was still on blocks and I could feel the sump/pump hose constricting like a vacuum with the pump running.
Removed the hose from the drum housing to find a plastic vending card blocking the drain hole. It made a perfect flap valve. Big card little hole so I cut into three using a pair of long scissors before removing with long nose pliers.
Job done !!!
