My 5 discy Sony (1994) CD Player drawer keeps opening and shutting continuously when switched on - what could be doing that?

Is your CD Player a carousel or stack system? If it is five player carousel it is possible that the carousel has come off its spool which it sits on to turn. I had a similar problem with my AWIA System and this is what was causing it. I know that all systems are different and I hope this is of some use to you and hope you can get it fixed.
