Thanks to a virus, I have a few corrupted files.
The viruses is gone, and virus protectors are now updated.
The corrupted files irritate me in this way.... instant messengers texts are blank, my search for files and folders page is blank (non internet)...some URLs fail to be redirected..I've adjusted browser settings (no luck). I have tried a few other things with no luck.
I'm now going on two weeks of getting no where...help

Install xp-antispy. This restrics sights
Install & run Spybot & Spyware blaster. This gets them when you run them.
Install Spyware Guard. This stops them in real time.
