electrolux 3 way fridge?

Fridge works fine on 12v and 240V but not on gas. The pilot light lights up instantly on switch-on but no cooling. Any ideas please?
David, July 2008
All three forms of fridge power produce heat in a specific part of the fridge cooling circuit to make the fridge work. The fact that the fridge works fine on two of these supplies is encouraging.
The difficult bit is getting to the tube which the pilot light sends its flame up to transfer the heat to the fridge circuit. It is behind the fridge and you will probably have to take the fridge out to get at it.
The problem is probably going to be a blockage in the tube above the pilot light thus preventing the flame from sending its heat up the heat exchanger.
Don't forget that you are going to have to disconnect and reconnect the gas/12v and 240v connections. If you are not competent to do this -find someone who is.
Depending on the layout of your ventilation grills it might be possible to explore the tube blockage from the outside-Be careful do not damage the pilot nozzle or the spiral vane found in the tube to distribute the heat within the exchanger. Any blockage is likely to be in or near the spiral vane which should slide out upwards if you have the room
