The triangular curved plates that operate as a) power on/off, and b) cable retraction switches conceal 2 further screws holding the unit together. These plates hinge on 4 plastic lugs which break easily. Of the 8 lugs in total (4 per plate) I broke 3 removing the plates. I used superglue to repair. I imagine the glue will hold only until the next time the plates are removed. Whereas slipping the plates back over their lugs is easy, and made easier by pre-application of polish, getting them off is difficult. As the previous answer says there are plastic tags which can be bent to allow the triangular plates to slip off towards the end of the machine where the cable emerges. Insert a small screwdriver roughly in the middle of the straight side of the plate, and angle the blade so it pushes the tag outwards i.e. towards the edge of the machine. It is difficult to see what you're doing; a miracle of poor design really. Whilst this tag is thus displaced, try to gently slide the plate off its lugs.
