Do you flush out the Vax after each time it is used? If not then water is still in the pump tubes which need to be released. Fill the Vax as normal without cleaning solution and pop the pump feed tubes into a ktchen sink. Turn on the pump button /wash light and allow water to pump through the tubes. It should work thereafter. If it doesn't work then the only other thing is to literally suck out the solution yourself - I know that it tastes soapy but I'm not spending £15 or more for a replacement tube! Ive had my Vax 4000 for 13 years and won't replace it purely because its great at washing carpets.
