Diesel fuel tank leaking around the retaining strap that were spotwelded in the factory
I want to retain the original tank, Does anyone know how it can be repaired. Have considered seam welding around the straps (The tank has been removed washed out and well vented for several months) but would prefer a safer method. Does anyone know if there is repair material or a fuel tank lining service, preferably in the south west

Plasic Padding The makers of body fillers have a product specifically designed for fuel tank repairs, I have used it on both petrol and diesel tanks. If done properly the repair will last years, but with the diesel tanks make sure that extra time is given to cleaning and degreesing the area tp be filled.

There is a product specifically for ths problem,much used by motorbike's and clasic car buff's.alas,I cant remember the name of it,but i'm fairly certain it's availiable from a company called "Frost",specalist's in automotive restoration.Sorry I don't know exact url,I usually just google frost.
