my son crashed my desktop venture computer from tiger direct,turned it on computer can't find os.tryed to put xandros on my computer a linux operating system would not work.how do I GET linux off ,to start out with a blank harddrive to install windows xp professional.any free utillities to wipe everything off harddrive.linux just loaded would not install.

You don't need to. Just boot from the XP CD and overwrite what is currently on the disk by taking the Format Disk option when installing XP.
