why is my boiler on constantly?

my main medway boiler is permanently on even when no taps are on calling for hot water? I have turned it off for now,any help greatfully recieved,many thanks,Dave.

your gas valve is jammed open, req a service ,dont use untill fixed,it will burn out the heat exchanger if left on
