My onkyo dx3800 cd player can't spin the disk?

The onkyo dx 3800 cd player is a great sounding cd player. One problem is that it won't spin the cd. The motor works fine and the pickup and associated electronics work fine.
The tray moves the cd into the correct position.
The motor lifts up to clamp the cd fine. There appears to be something missing on the top bridge clamp. The ring magnet is there. There is a black round plastic puck over the magnet. And that's all. The motor lifts and attempts to clamp the cd onto the black plastic puck but there is too much friction to let the cd spin, in my opinion. The plastic puck has slots for something to fit over it, something between the puck and the cd. Something slippery and non rotating. Like maybe a teflon or delrin round piece. I have been able, by removing the bridge clamp, to play a cd using a pencil to lightly hold the cd onto the motor disk. It sounds great and tracks fine.
Any help would be great.

paul,

i have the same player which had the same problem!
But...I found it! The problem is the puck,it sticks to the bridge clamp! If you press the puck out of the bridge,it's free again, that's all!!yoehoe,I'm good haha
