My Rover 200 keeps blowing CDL fuze when you use the key to open the drivers door. This fuze is linked up to the immobeliser,hence the car will not start .
Will the problem be with the door lock itself if so is it repairable or is it likely to be a wire shorten out.

as with everything in macanics its a proses of eliminashion it if it is the dor lock ive just got one from a srap yard for £5.00 alittl tricky to fit but i enjoy doing things like this fixing problems and helping

if it is a hatch 3 or 5 door it could be a short the most likly place to find the shrot will be in the rubber on the right hand side if you stand with the tail gate open as the wire caseing dries out and cracks and splits with movement ive just found this on my brouthers rover 200 which corsesed the centail locking to fail and blow a fuse in the rear wiper also try a single wire that conect to the top of the starter moter this has something to do whith the imobilizer my brothers car sometimes didnot disengage the imobilizer when opend and would not start the wire conector was loose i made it a thighter fit every thing is fixed now ready for him cominng back from a holiday in turky luky sod if you would like some more help send a e-mail to me at laura.hind@btinternet.com
