how can i reduce smoke emmissions from exhaust. can you adjust pump or injectors?

resubmit with colour of smoke,ie black,blue,gray and any imformation on engine conditions at the time,ie,light load,full load ,idle,temp,the last time the valves were checked.etc. all thing help to get a more accurate diagnosis.
