stuck in drainage ?

my bosch SHU43C02UC/17 dishwasher will not initiate a cylcle (any cycle) the drain starts (and it does drain the water) but never stops until I shut the power off. no water starts to fill the tub it just keeps draining. Any idea why this might be happening?

Dishwashers (AEG and Bosch) can do this for 2 reasons.
1. There is a leak ,and the bottom of the machine under the washing compartment is full of water which actuates a float switch to run the pump continuously. This is to prevent floods.
2. The pump impeller can get blocked-mine jammed on a pea-, which I think gave the same symptom. Remove the filter inside wash compartment and you can feel the pump impeller which should turn reasonably freely. You can test this by pouring water in the wash compartment, and see if it is pumped out of the outlet hose when the pump is running.

I have been on another site and found the answer, my dishwasher is working again!!!!
http://www.fixya.com/support/t138140-bosch_classixx_slimline_dishwasher_not

Basically I fillled the bottom of the dishwasher with water, then tilted the dishwasher 45 degrees to the left then backwards 45 degrees - some water spilled out. Then turned on to pre-rinse and wow it's working again.

Hope yours does too!

Not an answer sorry, but my Exxcel has developed exactly the same fault. It washed, then drained, but will not go beyond drain, no matter what I do. Tried re-set, but will only drain and not move on. So whoever has an answer will now help 2 of us!!
