i have just installed some cat5e and 1 of them failed on 'insertion loss'. what is this ? how do i remedy it ?

are you using this cable on a hub or server or have you connetced it directly between two computers?
Cat5E is for connection between a pc and a server or hub.
Cat 5 is for straight interconnect between two pc's
