Low Water Level in tanks?

I have a water tank in the attic that feeds my shower, however the problem I have it that once the tanks goes low, the tank will not fill up with the cold water taps running, but as soon as I turn off the water taps, the tanks starts to fill up...what should I do to fix this problem?

you don"t say if your tank is plastic or galvinised,if its galvinised its possible the ballcock is jamming against the side of the tank due to residue you may need to replace the tank for a plastic one.

increase the mains supply to the cold water supply tank, if its being supplied with 15mm copper upgrade it to a 22mm copper supply.

check that nothing is restricting your incoming supply ie partially closed stopcock, if all clear which it sounds like the only option is to increase your cold supply pipe size or be patient

Maybe you should seek professional help. If not, If your water level is low,and progresses when you turn it off,you need to just give it time to fill up& restart your water again.
