Marantz CD 67SE has intermittent hissing noise on one channel?

The right channel on the CD67 SE makes hissing noise, but only sometimes! It's annoying and spoils the quality which in otherwise very good.
Is it a serious fault and easy to have fixed?
Is it something that I could do myself? I have done some mods before but am not an engineer!

John,

Thanks you are right!
One of the opamps was not fully seated in the holder because when I gently pushed them one went "click" and now the sound is even clearer.
An excellent sounding CD which I modified.
Changed opamps, reclocked with own power supply!
Stunning machine with open sound stage!

hi it sounds like you have fitted opamps and you may have a slight short, also a dry joint maybe. check the solder joints make sure none are touching the opamp will be on the side you hear
