My mouse only allows the scroll of the on screen page in waves rather than a smooth transition as before. Thought was old mouse but brought new optical wireless mouse and does same. Have tried changing settings on lines etc. no change. Any clues?

The only thing I can come up with is for you to go to 'Start' then find 'Control Panel' and click on it. Click on 'Mouse'. Under Mouse Properties click on 'Wheel' then click on 'The following number of lines at a time' which will then uncheck 'One screen at a time'. Set the number of lines you want the mouse to scroll (mine's set at 3). Click 'Apply' and 'OK'.
