Saunier Duval Thelia 23- no heating/hot water?

The problem seems to be the clock/programmer. With the slector switch set to 'auto' the display will normally show the current time plus 'on' or 'off'.
When it plays up there is no time in the display and just the 'off' symbol displayed and the boiler wont ignite for heating or water. If I play around with the programmer re-setting it, swearing and hitting it something eventually makes a 'click' sound like a solenoid, the time re-appears in the display and it works fine again. Any thoughts?

Try first to zero the setting. Press the tiny button with a pin and hold until it zero`s. or disconnect the clock from the PCB. This will put the boiler on. controlled by the w/summer lever/ The clock does not control hot water. This will tell you if the clock is at fault.
