Why would the glass door of my AEG Micromat combi 635B suddenly and alarmingly explode, showering glass all over the kitchen. It is about 6 years old and the company are unable to pay for or contribute to its repair because of its age.
How long would you expect an expensive appliance like this to last?

Any small flaw in the glass could have been the problem. A chip or small crack from it being knocked over the years, would concentrate any stress in the glass. Add the heat and bang !
