should the top sprayer arm be fastened to the machine roof.My own is hanging just above the dishes in the top tray.Not sure if it is broken

Hi Neil, yes it should be fixed with a white plastic nut from above.If you pull the machine out,it may still be there.If not you will have to order a TUBE ASSY, they are not that dear and it will leak water if it is not repaired. All the best.
