What's wrong with it?

My Hotpoint Aquarius WMA50 does not start the wash cycle. The "Wash" light is on[stable] but the "Door Open" light blinks!! The door is clearly closed!! Washed previously[last week] without any problems. Help.

Same problem just started with my Hotpoint though its the WMA10 model. Used to need to put small amount of pressure on door which would then kick machine into action but now I have to hit the door really hard before anything will happen??
