1.Place the 'U' shaped brackets into the holes at either end of the radio until you feel the notches (at the end of the U shaped brackets) engage.

2.After the brackets engage IMPORTANT: Pull the brackets towards the centre of the radio. This pushes the securing catches away, the radio will then disengage from the housing and pop out. (Takes only seconds to remove).

if you don't have the tools then all you need is 4 x 2 inch nails. place them in the holes on either side of the unit until you feel them touch the clips inside. once all 4 are in place then you can pull the unit out very easily. takes about 8 seconds.

The radio is removed by inserting two special removal tools simultaneously into the slots at the sides of the radio. This unlocks the radio and it may then be withdrawn. The tools should have been supplied with the car but can be bought from a main dealer and are quite inexpensive.

If it has two holes eiter side of the radio you can get it out with some standard release keys from a car accessory shop. If no holes are visible you will need to use thin blades. I use feeler guages. You need four thin blades. Put one in each corner between the radio and
the dash but in the left and right hand sides of the vertical parts of the trim. Push the top right down and the bottom right up. They need to push two pins on either side of the radio towards each other. Do the same with the left hand side whilst holding the right hand side blades together. I think the Haynes manual may have a diagram.
