can i fix a central heating radiator with a pin prick?

Can i use plumber mait or is this a short term answer.

This is usually symptomatic of a larger problem, get a plumber/heating engineer to call and test the water in the system. It may need cleansed/flushed and an inhibitor put in.

Short answer is no. The pinprick hole has developed from the inside so any patch you put on it will only be very temporary. You also have to bear in mind that the water in the radiator will be under pressure and along with thermal expansion and contraction your leak will return a little bit worse each time.
NB. Plumbers mait is a waste of time anyway as a hole sealing product
