How do I change the bearings on my Creda Washing Machine?

I have a Creda IWM12 washing machine. I am pretty certain the bearings and the seal have gone. How do I go about replacing them?

This is NOT a job for the faint hearted or novice to attempt. With MOST machines you have to strip EVERYTHING off the drum to remove the drum assembly.(it helps to make notes and diagrams of wiring positions as you strip to rebuild later). Now the fun starts… Separate the inner and outer drum by removing the pulley wheel. When this is done put the inner drum to one side. Get the outer drum and lever out the bearing seal. Turn the drum over and drive out the bearing from the other side with a big hammer and wide flat ended drift. When the bearing is out, turn the drum over and repeat for the other side. Wipe the races clean and offer a new bearing into the race and add a drop of oil around the outside of the bearing to make it slip. Tap the bearing on opposite sides of the face, i.e. 9 and 3 o’clock, 6 and 12 o’clock to keep bearing square to the hole. Stop driving the bearing when its level with the outer shoulder. Repeat for the other side, this time the bearing must be driven until it bottoms on the internal shoulder. Next tap in the seal till level.

Now put everything you took off and disconnected back where they came from (this is where your notes will be useful). Job should be now done, like I said NOT for the faint hearted

I ALMOST KILLED MYSELF DOING IT!
