Hello, I sincerely hope that you can help me. I have a Mecer laptop, running Win XP. It has 3 USB ports which I usually connect to hub/s. This has always worked fine.

Today my screen turned black whilst taking my mobile USB connection out and after that all three ports on the laptop is non-functional. If I plug the usb hubs in or the mobile I get power but no detection whatsovever; if I put a flash disk in it seems as if there is also no power.

I did uninstall and reinstall (was detected automatically); disable and enable the controllers and hubs.


I am dependent on the computer for my income and all my work is on external hard drives working with USB; this puts me in a pretty big fix. Can you assist in anyway.

check your fan , because mine was the same and it was the fan becaus the mothebord was getting to hot

Looks like the motherboard is defunct. As you have external HDD's try them in another PC
