hi I have just purchased some black out roller blinds from Dunhelm Mill, but what a noise they make, they squeak and squeel when operated and I have to really pull to get them to work,they are fitted into the recess right hand pulley and are in nice and parrallel, I have fitted others argos ones in my kitchen and they are fine, any ideas please ? they are driving me nuts,I Contacted Dunhelm they do not want to know

My guess and its just a guess don't buy blinds from dunhelm especially if they can't be helpful and give advice. I got mine from a carboot but I'm guessing there from dunhelm because they squeak too. Thank for advice I will try the spray

I keyed in squeaky roller blind to Google and was a bit shocked to find this thread at the very top of the Google search results as guess what? My blind is also from Dunelm!

Looks like the makers of silicone spray will do well for a while!

This can be alleviated by spraying silicone spray right into the mechanism area. Make sure you shield the fabric of the roller blind to avoid staining the fabric.(available from art shops, stationers, haberdashery shops, John Lewis).
