Makita drill problem?

Ive got a two year old makita 8406c drill and it's suddenly started running really slow with one of its brushes is sparking really bad. brushes are all good,
any ideas?

hi,i really wouldnt bother with it, i have 1 with same prob, less than a year old, had 1 repair from makita in a local tool centre, i was never impressed with it, it seems the 850 watt 8406 was much better, if yours is 110volt, theres 1 spare/repair on ebay with gearbox prob.

It sounds like you have a bad armature and possibly a field. This may be more expensive then actually buying a new one. Armatures are one of the most expensive things in Power Tools.
