Baxi combi 105E flame on and off problem?

When I turn on the boiler for either hot water or central heating the flame light will come on, the boiler will fire up, then the temperature lights go up to 80 and then the flame shuts off again. After a while the whole process starts again. No warning lights come on. It takes ages for the central heating to reach any reasonable heat and if running a hot water tap it alternates between hot and cold. Any thoughts on this problem would be appreciated.

Get another Corgi Engineer in,someone who knows what they`re doing.

Dosta , many thanks for the answer. Sounds right to me although the whole system is only 3 years old so I cant understand how the radiators could be causing the problem. Is there anything in the boiler that would cause this, such as a pump not working properly. I have had a heating engineer look at this 2 times now and he has not found anything. It looks like I will have to deal with this myself now rather than pay good money for nothing.

Your boiler is overheating and the safety devices are kicking in to prevent damage - water is not circulating adequately around your heating system - this water not only heats the radiators it also cools the boiler when you demand hot water. If your radiators are cold at the bottom when they are supposed to heat up this is symptom caused by old radiators that are rusting and causing sludge build up
