Maytag Washer will not spin?

The washer cut off because the clothes apparently became unbalanced. I opened the lid, adjusted clothes, pushed the button to restart it; the spin tried to start for an instant but did not. The spin cycle will not come on at all now. Is there an out of balance switch or a fuse? What do you think it could be and where do you think I can locate the problem. Thank you for any help you can offer. Maytag Model #LAT9806AAE

The washer is equipped with an unbalance level switch located behind the lid. This activates the start and stop action of the motor when the lid is opened or closed. Behind the level switch is a lid switch that works in conjunction with the level switch. The level switch has a small spring that might have broken preventing contact with the lid switch and prevent start of the washer. Good luck.
