The metal pipe (maybe 25cm long) that holds the dipstick has come free from the engine. Not sure how it was fitted originally but I would like to know how best to repair it. You can simply plop it back into the hole and it sits quite happily but it must be jumping around when the engine is running and losing oil. Can I just seal it with some kind of heat resistant silicone rubber?
