How do I get the door on my Sanyo microwave oven (model EM-S3575) to open. I think there is a spring inside the handle. Could it be this?

i don't have a sanyo but i think they all open the same way. on the inside of the door there is an inset that is about 3/4" from the outside edge of the door all around the periphery. there is just enough room to insert a butter knife in between and gently pry it apart. go around the whole periphery a little at a time. after taking this piece off it will give you access to the latch and door handle screws. hope this works for you.
