How can I unjam the cyclone assembly on my Dyson Dc14?

The button at the top of the curved handle does not release the cyclinder when pressed. I see that the clear cyclinder does not sit squarely on the black rubber seal at the bottom.

I have tried wriggling it to square it up without success. Is there a way of dismantling it so I can remove the whole assembly another way?

I haven't seen that happen on a DC14. Are you saying that the flap that releases the dirt won't open when you press the red button on the top with your thumb? If so, see if you can release the trap door with a thin, flat bladed screwdriver. If you can get it open, then you can remove the clear bin assembly completely from the cyclone assembly by pushing the latch on the front of the cyclone chamber at the top of the clear bin assembly. You can then reseat the gasket and reassemble the whole thing. Hope this helps.
