can i mend my baxi gas fire?

my baxi back boiler works but the gas fire on the front of it wont light up even though i can press and hold the knob to get the pilot light on it just goes out when i release it no matter how long i hold it in can this be resolved?

Thermocouple is burnt out. Replacement 'universal fitting' available from most boiler spares outlets
