HI

Need some urgent help. I've got a Eurocom 888E and it's been fine for years.

But now when I switch it on it goes through the Bios page very quickly and then to a black screen with the a cursor in the corner.

It will go no further and when I try any keys it just beeps. Ctr-Alt-Delete just start it up again with the same result.

The only problem i had before was that I was getting an error about a disk being inserted that wasnt actually in the CD drive.

I'm a bit clueless so you'll have to quite clear on what I can do to get my baby up and running.

90% sure it is a hard drive causing issue. You will need to get another one and reload your operating system. You might try just booting up with a buddies laptop drive to see if that helps
