well some dvdplayers are noisier than others,however we have the same one and plays quiet and no jumps/freeze in play back.my experience AS A QUALIFIED ELECTRONIC/ELECTRICAL ENGINEER and knowledge of dvd/cd players tells me that the dampers which the motor sits on are prob loose or damaged(usually happens in transit).this would account for the noise and would cause playback instability.Other possible cause is the spindle/belt wheel on the motor may be adjusted incorrectly and causing the vibration/noise.It may be touching other parts inside-a slight grinding /whirring noise would also be evident for this.
since
(i) the product is a class I laser product and is dangerous should you be exposed to the radiation
(ii)with all tv there is DANGEROUS high voltage present in the region of 32,000v this can also stay charged after swithing off
