Why don't the arms on my dishwasher rotate?

I have a Hoover HDS 555M compact dishwasher. The rotating arms have stopped rotating, not sure if they both stopped at the same time as there has been a steady deterioration in the cleanliness of the dishes at the end of the cycle. Please help as I'm getting dishwashers hands!!

Take the spray arms off and make sure all the holes are clear and nothing blocking them. You may also have a problem with the wash pump motor. Have seen one that had the plastic impellor vanes broken off by a piece of rubbish and the pump couldn't produce enough pressure to drive the arms around.

The arms on the diswaster are moved around by the force of the water (like a garden sprinkler) If they have stopped moving - and there is nothing obstructing them (try spinning them by hand), then there is a blockage in the pipe connected to it. Try cleaning it out.
