Does the Shaerp vl-z1 take photos?

NOT ABOUT THE DEW MESSAGE!

Hi there,
I'm doing a school project all about the local area. My camera was all working before I left but when I got there I got the dreaded dew message but I remembered that it had a photo button on top. So lil old me thought I was being really clever by taking the photos before the camera automatically shut off each time but now I don't know where they saved to. I assumed it had some sort of SD card in it or something but now I cant see anything and they don't show up on the preview screen. So I was just wondering, has it indeed taken my photos and saved them or have I just wasted four hours worth of work?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Obvious you haven't a manual go to www.sharp.co.uk Click on Support at the top of home page. On the left list on the page that appears select Downloads and Manuals
Then select Operation manuals
Enter model number or select using the second box press arrow to bring up model listing. Scroll down to your model click then up comes the manual select down load manual then read it.
If it's the one I've been looking at and downloaded then Sorry to put a spanner in the works it doesn't appear to have still technology only takes video pics.
