Hi There, You didn't say whether it was a cassette type or digital camcorder? If it is a cassette type i,e 8mm or vhsc, if it's one of these types then it could be that you just need to clean the heads on the recorder. You can buy a cassette cleaner from most electrical retailers, or if your not bad at diy you can get some nail varnish remover and a cotton bud and clean it yourself, the part you need to clean is large and round and is chrome to look at. good luck
