tuning tv?

Stations will still be stored same as if you unplug the aerial at the back of any other tv. You could even take the tv from the bedroom to the kitchen as a double check. In my experience when people split an aerial cable (coax) there is usually bad connections hence the no signal in the kitchen. Start with the tv swap and see what you find, double check the split in the cable. And then if no joy think about an amplifier. They are not expensive but need to be inside as they usually plug into a socket for power.
