Vectra 1997 2.0 petrol with air con, as above you have to take the engine stabiliser off, 3 bolts on the engine and 3 bolts on the wing. Under the brake servo undo all brackets on the alternator, 12 bolts all together then the air box, air pipes and cables and the alternator comes out. Just take care not to pull the brake oil reservoir out of the master cylinder!

just done mine took two days to work it out. you have to take the engine stabiliser off 3 bolts on the engine and 3 bolts on the wing under the brake servo. undo all brackets on the alternator. 12 bolts all together. and the 4 jubilee clips on the air intake. that alternator comes out sweet as. i went out to celebrate when i finished. well chuffed.

Loosen but do not remove the wheel nuts on the front drivers side wheel. Now jack the car up and support it with axle stands. Remove the drivers side front wheel. You will now be able to remove the wheel arch plastic liner. This will give you access to the alternator.
