How do I stop my laminate floor from crackling ?

We intalled laminate flooring in our kitchen. It looks great but crackles when walked on. It looks like the short seams may be puckering a bit. We did use spacers and in some areas there is moe than the required space called for.

Is it possible I attached the moulding too tight and it is not expanding properly?

This floor is over a crawl space.

Not enough space at perimeter edges quite likely. I saw this in a flat I was viewing once. They person who laid the laminate had actually plastered in the edges with filler! Oops. Sure you havent done that but combo of not enough expansion space and central heating may be the cause. No alternative other than to remove (file?) material off the edges.
